No will not work.

Go into options and change the version from AE to Super and see if that works. But if your talking about getting the dlc trophies, even a plat save you would need to do it all again anyway except maybe follow someone on leaderboards

It works. SSFIV:AE savefiles and regular SSFIV saves are interchangeable. The titles and icons will pop (all of them) but I think you need to clear 1 trial to unlock them.
The team lobby/tournament/online wins/create an endless lobby trophies will pop up after doing them once.

The only ones you need to do legit is the arcade trophies and ranking up all characters to C.
