With a platinum save, it should unlock Stars/Profile trophies by completing a chapter and difficulty trophies by completing last mission on hardest difficulty.
I don't think collectible trophies will pop though.

I am not familiar with Game Genie, but you can always use a hex editor to change the region.

I do believe that game genie also has a hex editor included
