From the PS3 Trophy Guide:
"There are a couple ways to earn this. The first and most highly recommended way is to use the Konami Code. For PS3, just enter the code in the main menu, this code is: U,U,D,D,L,R,L,R, Circle, X . Brings back memories for some of those older gamers out there, I'm sure. This will unlock 1999 mode as early as the first time you see the main menu, making this possibly the first trophy you earn. The second way is to complete the game, which is simple enough. Once you finish the game this mode will be unlocked. Again, I recommend using the code for an easy trophy out of the way early."

Yes i know this but i search a save at the last checkpoint and if it's possible with nothing buyed. to earn the gold trophy
