Thanks for the reply. I tried changing this save to the PSN version and resigning. When I try to copy it from my USB to PS3 HDD I get a message saying "Copying of this save data is not allowed" - any ideas?

If you're using KG resigner or Bruteforce Save Data,there is an option to 'clear copy protection'. choose that before resigning the save to your profile. it will now copy over onto your ps3.

Brilliant thanks. I had tried to clear the copy protection with Bruteforce and it hadn't worked but I forgot you could do it with KG. Worked a treat. Thanks again.
