I'm pretty new to Bruteforce save editor and wants to know if I apply cheats there is an option in almost all the games called update csum. I want to know what that means as my save once saved backed to ps3 says 'Save file is corrupted' and it's no doubt the csum thing as if I reassign other saves to my account without applying cheats, they worked flawlessly but if I use cheats than I get the corrupted save error.

Can someone explain me what update csum is and can it be done within Bruteforce and for every games procedure the same?

its update checksum...some games require it, but that depends on what version you have and if everything is up to date as some checksums are implemented in bruteforce, to apply cheats, you need to decrypt save, apply the cheats you want then update pfd (full) and encrypt..to make sure it took verify pfd.

Thanks, Well I did your steps and indeed my save files are working but now I have a new problem. I'm using cfw rogero 4.55 and three games I used cheats but nothing happens i.e cheats are not working. I did all the steps watched tutorials and youtube videos and it seems I'm doing everything right but no cheats are working. Here are the games

Resident Evil 6 (Usa)
Lollipop Chainsaw (Eur)
Metal Gear Risining (eur)

Usually I use cheat editor method for tweaking eboots but in some games it freezes either at start or game loading like Resident Evil 6 and Metal Gear rising. Also all games are updated.

What are you trying to do, I use eboot hacks and save editors and I've never had problems...if you try to do something that isn't possible than yes the game will crash or the checksum will kick in and not allow your cheats to activate...if you are on CFW look in to Artemis..it's like ps3usercheat but for CFW higher than 3.55..it uses netcheat .ncl files but if you get Artemis (r2) it's got all cheats imbedded..you can always make your own with net cheat or convert CodeUnique style to .ncl

Ok I kind of fixed the problem as it seems like the patch update wasn't working on Metal Gear before, but once I updated the game properly there was no freeze and cheats are working while in RE6 cheats actually works after you play intro campaign. Still Lollipop chainsaw is having problem. I actually download cheat pkg distributed on website and it's really Final Fantasy 13 games that are freezing and causing problems.
