My understanding from reading around so far is that you have to download the save file, resign it, then you can transfer it to the PS3 and start playing.

no not modded trophies....the only thing it will do is not make it look legit...like you may get a complete trophy before the half way trophy and so on...and yes you are correct, resign and maybe change region
