Hi, i dont know if its the right section, but i have a question. Im sure it was asked million times.
I have a PS3 with a OFW.
I want to back up copy protected saves.
In order to back up my copy protected save file, i need to remove the copy protection first. I searched a little bit and found out that copying my copy protected save file to my PC would be possible with a CFW, a FTP application and a save edtor (like Bruteforce for example). First question, this is correct, right?
Okay, i need to install a CFW first, which FTP application do i need and how do i use it?
So lets say i transfered my save file to my PC, all i need to do with the save editor is (Bruteforce for example) to remove the copy protection and i can use it with every PS3 out there, doesnt matter if CFW or OFW, right? of course, i need to use my profile. Some games have a system data, this is for me more important than the actual save file, this will be also transfered to my PC when i use it with a CFW, FTP and such, right? Do i need to change anything on that system data, so that i can put it back to a new PS3 with my profile information?
Sorry if its asked many times. Thanks for the help in advance and sorry for my english.
CFW requires you to flash your ps3, and thats if its a hackable model...you need to see if its a NAND or a NOR model, NAND are a bit more complicated as you need a progskeet or teensy, if its a NOR you can use a E3 flasher...if you use rebug you can use the built in tool box on the ps3, and get filezilla for the pc. after you have it set up correctly, disable cfw syscals, erase your history and such, you will need to sign in to your psn, download the saves to the save data utility. after you do that and hopefully you didnt get banned, you can set up a ftp and transfer the saves to the pc. use bruteforce to remove lock protection and you are set.....that's the process in a nutshell. not easy lol
