(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I had nothing but troubles trying to get Nat type 1. My ISP is Qwest and the router they provided is a Motorola 3347. When I called Qwest they were no help at all, one of the operators even told me that if I wanted the best connect I should buy a Xbox, well I say F**K Xbox. So knowing that Qwest is not PS3 User friendly I had to figure out a way to get my NAT from a type 3 to a type 1. Below is how I did it.

First off you will need to get your PPPoE User Name (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) and your PPPoE password. These can be obtained by calling your ISP (Internet Service Provider). Since mine was Qwest I called 1-800-475-7526

Once you have the above information get into your Internet Connection Settings and follow the steps below

1) Select a setting method: Custom
2) Select a connection method: Wired or Wireless-either will work
3) Select the operation mode of the network devise: Auto-Detect
4) IP Address Setting: PPPoE5) PPPoE User Name: Type in the User name you obtained from your ISP
6) PPPoE Password: Type in the password provided by your ISP
7) DNS Setting:: Automatic
Cool Man (aka Tustin) MTU: Automatic
9) Proxy Server: Do Not Use
10) UPnP: Disable
11) Press "X" to save settings
12) Test Connection

Thats it you should now have NAT Type 1. Hope this helped.

Thanks

You get the PPPoE username and password from your ISP. This specific username is the one that allows you to connect to the internet. The best thing to do is call your ISP and get the PPPoE username and password

This is how you bypass the router and go straight to the internet. In order todo so, you have to obtain the PPPoE username and password from Qwest to bypass their routers. The PPPoE they provide you is the information they setup so the router connects to their network. So if you put the PPPoE in your playstation settings it will bypass the routers configs and go straight to the internet.
