capcom, one of the largest publishers of playstation network titles, is planning to launch a branded playstation network store.

"out of all of the third-party companies making use of the digital space, [sony] recognizes capcom is one of the best partners for content," said john diamonon, product manager of capcom's psn titles.

This is a major step forward in the establishment of capcom as a "digital brand."

"with digital, that object can be highlighted in about 20 different ways," said diamonon. "i think sony is first to recognize that. The more opportunities that someone has a chance to see or be exposed to our content ... The more likely it is that someone will give a capcom title a shot."

expect other major psn publishers to follow suit. The capcom playstation store will be available this november alongside the launch of age of booty.
