What is wrong with it?

There can be many things that can be wrong with your PS3 when you have the YLOD. The main thing that can be wrong with your console can be a overheated motherboard that can be costly to fix depending on the damage done. There is also a laser inside your PS3 that helps to turn on your PS3 with a few other parts. If these are not in great condition then the PS3 will not turn on or will have difficulty playing games. The hardrive could be seriously burnt. This can be burnt by the console being played too much or just happenng without anything be done to hurt it. All the prices to fix these will be said in the other paragraphs.

Sony

If you have chosen Sony to fix your PS3 then listen carefully to this. When you first buy your PS3 then Sony will give you a 12 month warrenty so the PS3 will be practically fire proof for the year. I have researched and over 80% of the PS3's that have YLOD have had it after the warrenty. For Sony to fix this it will cost £120 or $180. It willl take longer than any other person or retailer to fix this but you know they will always do the job properly. If you do not want to waste your money on Sony getting the PS3 fixed you an also get a PS3 that has been fixed by Sony for the same amount of money but you oly get a 3 month warrenty on it. For te PS3 to be fixed or get a new one it will take between 1-3 weeks so if you cannot wait that long look at my other solutions that I have made.

Yourself

If you have chosen to do this yourself it will cost alot cheaper but alot harder. On a scale to 1 to 10 I would put this about 8 or a 9 as the diffuculty is unbelivable. The things that I have listed later on on this paragraph will be the things that will be needed to fix this. Please sate that even if your warrenty is within the year Sony cover everything else but yourself tying to fix it. So if this goes wrong it will end up costing more than a PS3 itself. You will also have to take the whole PS3 apart so there will be little pieces lying around so make sure they are in a safe place.

Other people

If you would like other people to fix this then listen really carefully to this. When you are looking for people that you do not know please make sure that they have done this before as I have had my PS3 stolen and I would like to make it clear so this happens to nobody else. Make sure theprice is below £60 or $110. If it above that get someone else to do it as they are ripping you off. Ask also if they have done this before and how many people they have done this for. I have done this a second time here in Northern Ireland and I handed in the PS3 to a guy at around 6 o'clock and got it back at 8 o'clock so make sure they can do it sharpish. Don't be afraid to say I neeed this back really soon. Make up something like I am going on holiday or something.

Buying

If you are wanting to buy a a PS3 then it is quite simple. Make sure the PS3 has a good record and has not be abused much. Also make sure tht the PS3 has all the right pats and hasn't got swaped parts that shouldn't be there. The most iportant thing is that the PS3 is going at a resonable price so you don't get ripped of. Make sure that they have at lease 1 controller and they are working well.

How can I look after this?

When you are trying to look after your PS3 you are going to have to be on top of this and don't be slacking off! Try to keep your PS3 away from a wall as YLOD can happen. Also make sure that you don't play this too much as it can lead to problems with our PS3.
Try to keep the hardrive clan. Maybe once or twice a month just take 3 minutes to clean it so no problems happen.
