What It Means For You!
Everbody knows that there is a lot of contraversy going on in the gaming businees. We have Activision and IW nipping at each other, and now we have Sony being sued. The lawsuit was filed last week for the removal of the "Other OS" option. The feature allowed users to install the Linux operatin system and was removed in March.
Many players and fans want to know what this means to them. IGN spoke to Rebecca Coll, who represents the firm suing Sony. Coll said that its too early in the case to to predict the outcome, but she says all PS3 owners are included in it. Right now the proposed class represents "everyone who bought a PS3 from the time of launch to March 27, 2010.
This class stands on the fact that Sony charged a lot more for it's PS3 due to the fact of the "Other OS" feature. Consumers paid much more for the PS3 than they would have if the "Other OS" feature was not there.
The notifications will be sent to PS3 owners in various ways.

Sometimes notice is by publication in newspapers, by mail, by email, through internet postings, or any combination of those" she said. "The notice will advise class members how long they have to 'opt out' of the class.
