(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I thought I would make this guide for the people who are stuck on whether or not to buy a PS3. Before I begin to list my reasons, I want to tell you that the PlayStation 3 is the best console I have ever owned. I truly believe it has everything I have ever wanted and I truly believe that it is totally future proof. Now that I got that out of the way let me begin. I have 10 reasons which I'am going to list now.

Number 10 - Games: The most obvious reason why you should get a PlayStation 3 is for its broad range of games. The PlayStation 3 has games for all ages e.g. Eyepet, Uncharted 2, God of War, Flower, LittleBigPlanet, MAG, PlayStation Home and ModNation Racers. I could go on. These are just a few of the many exclusives the PlayStation 3 has. Of course these games aren't only limited to certain family members. The system has games for the family, girlfriend's, sisters, parents and grandparents. Also, the range of games isn't just aimed at boys as you will see now. Echochrome, Elefunk, Fat Princess, Buzz and many more. The PlayStation 3 really is starting to sound more appealing now isn't it? That's about it there so lets rap it up and move on to number 10.

Number 9 - Blu-ray Disc Movies: Why watch a simple standard SD DVD when you can enjoy the benefits of full HD from a blu-ray disc. Seeing as you have the proper equipment your pretty much set. I own many blu-ray's and I can tell you straight up that the quality of the video, sound and features are top class. You can access many bonuses from a blu-ray which would be non-existent on a DVD due to its limited size. These include, BD-Live (Chat to other BD-Live members while watching the same film), many extra deleted scenes, behind the scene clips and much, much more.

Number 8 - PlayStation Network (PSN): This is the PlayStation 3's online equivelent to the Xbox 360's own Xbox LIVE. Many features are the same, except instead of paying like its counter part (Xbox LIVE) PSN is totally free for use, so all you have to do is hook your PS3 online, make an account and your pretty much set. PSN features a store which you can buy DLC, mini games (minis), PSP Games, PS1 games and a whole lot of movies. Apart from that you can make friends, chat with them, set up web chats, have clan battles, play on games together and most importantly, socialise and make friends. Also, there is going to be a premium version of PSN for a fee going to be announced in a couple of weeks. The normal features we enjoy for free will still be there so don't get all stroppy. Cross game chat is rumored to be part of the premium content and so is free PS1/minis games and PSN store discounts!

Number 7 - Music: The PlayStation 3 hard drive (HDD) lets you store hundreds of songs all though, this depends on the size of your HDD. The bigger HDD you have, the more songs you can store. I have also heard that you can buy music videos from the American PSN store although I cannot comfirm this (I live in the UK). If you live in PAL territories (UK, Most of Europe, Australia, Some of Africa, Middle East, India and China), you will be able to enjoy VidZone. VidZone is an application that takes up very little memory (Around 60MB). This application has a whole range of music videos just waiting to be watched. It has different genres of music and sometimes it even shows some concerts for a small fee! One last thing! You can even listen to the music stored on your HDD in certain games, e.g. Warhawk, Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Number 6 - Internet: Yes the PlayStation has the internet. You can browse most stuff you could expect to browse from on a normal PC. You can view YouTube videos and you can even visit NextGenUpdate from your PlayStation 3! Allthough the PlayStation 3 doesn't have a very good browser (which is one of its weaker aspects) it still does most things normally. It has Abode Flash Player 10 so you can expect a smooth experience on most sites. You can save images from Google, (you can even download movies from a few sites Winky Winky) I probably don't need to go through anymore seeing as the PlayStation 3's internet is pretty much straight forward.

Number 5 - Photos: You can store those family photos that have been cluttering you PC's HDD on the PS3. You can create slideshows, you can even take in-game pictures from your games e.g. Motorstorm 2, PlayStation Home. The PlayStation 3 can use a USB stick to upload or download photos from one another. This is pretty much it for the photos so lets move on.

Number 4 - Remote Play: If you are lucky enough to have a PSP like me, you should know that you can connect it to your PlayStation 3. There are many advantages to this. 1st, the PSP can act like a USB stick so it can do anything the stick can do. 2nd, you can actually control some of your PlayStation 3's funtions using a PSP wired or wireless! You can talk to friends, watch videos from your PlayStation 3 HDD and you can listen to the music from your PlayStation 3 HDD on your travels! Cool or what!

Number 3 - PlayTV: Again if you live in PAL territories you can use this little item to view free TV in HD. For the UK, its basically Freeview, but you can recored, pause and rewind live TV and saved videos. Awesome! Australia should have this too and so should most other European countries. I don't know about the other PAL teritories sorry. :embarrassed:

Number 2 - PlayStation Eye: You can use this as a camera to take pics of yourself (if you have EyeCreate). You can use this to reveal yourself to the world xD in the chatrooms and you can use this little gadget for your games. Games like, Eye of Judgement, EyePet and Mesmerize. This actually is a pretty fun gadget if you like these sort of games. If this isn't appealing just wait untill PlayStation Move comes out.

Number 1 - BBC iPlayer and Hulu: UK users can access this by going under the TV icon in the XMB and then you click X to visit the website. Easy! iPlayer features hours upon hours of content shown on the BBC every month. As long as its British made. Don't expect to be able to watch Family Guy as it isn't made by us and thus, its in accessable. You can view shows liike, Eastenders, Doctor Who, Little Britain and Top Gear though.
Now onto America. I don't really know much about Hulu since I can't access the site since I'm not American. But if its what I have heard, it is better than the BBC's iPlayer. For free, you can view movies and programs all for free. Just visit Hulu if you live in any of the US states and you should find the website.

[UPDATE] There is a rumor flying about that ITV Player will be coming under the TV tab for UK users on PlayStation 3 sometime soon. I don't know about you but I'm overjoyed if this turns out to be real.

I hope you enjoyed reading the 10 reasons of why you should get a PS3. If I have pursuaded you to get one, I congratulate you! Clap, clap! Claps If I haven't, then I'am sorry, but I hope you enjoyed my thread anyway. This took me 90 mins to make this so I would love some appreciation.
