I'm making this thread to hopefully spark some interest in an XP hack. I recently saw this post on TTG where this guy explained (VERY roughly) how to do an XP hack for RDR. I've tried to figure out what he was saying and I've done multiple trials but with no avail. I'm going to dissect what he said and break it down for you guys. I believe we are VERY close to figuring this out! THIS DOES NOT WORK AT THE MOMENT I REPEAT, THIS DOES NOT WORK AT THE MOMENT!, and thats exactly why I started this thread. I did not steal this, I'm not taking credit for what that user on TTG found, I'm simply BRINGING IT TO NGU. and creating a waaay more easy tutorial to follow. so before you get mad at me for writing this saying its incomplete, try to make sense of that other guys tutorial on TTG and then tell me which tut makes more sense!
O.K. Let's Begin.
Let's start. First get on your PS3 and copy your Red Dead Redemption 'Multiplayer' file to your USB.
Plug it into the computer, and find this folder:

Then open up your RAGE.SAV file up with your hex editor:

You should then see the SAV file opened and all of the characters:

Next, we need the Float to Hex Converter, link below:

Now here is one part of his post that I'm a little confused on:

What this has done was changed the numerical XP amount that you have over to HEX code. So under the 'Single precision' Category you take the HEX for the XP:

Then you Copy the FIRST 4 digits of that number.

Open your RAGE.SAV file back up in the Hex Editor, then hit CTRL+F to find, then change the search mode from text string, to hex values (this means it will search the entire file for that XP Hex code)

after changing it, paste the hexadecimal code into the search bar.:

Then it will automatically find that four digit code for your XP:

Now this is the part he didn't explain well.

But basically all you would do after this step, is save the file and then safely remove your USB then plug it into your PS3 then over-write the old 'Multiplayer' save with the edited one.

Secondly, we need to figure out if the six digit code he provided us is even the right code. I don't know how he came up with that number. one possible thing is that we should figure out how much XP it takes to get to level 50 and put that number instead of the random 497424.

Here is the exact amount of XP to reach level 50! 337110 then once it is converted to hexidecimal the HEX code is: 48A49AC0. I don't know if we should try using the whole code, or just the first four. but that's the exact amount for level 50.

My suggestion is that you should start attacking them from the right side. Throw 2 dynamites inside the cabin and most likely you'll get 6-7 men killed just like that. After that, use either a repeater or bolt action rifle. Don't try to find someone, just aim, shoot, release, aim, shoot, release. Do this until you don't see anymore red dots on your radar. Soon enough, you'll see a quote ''Kill Walton's Gang Reinforcements''. Those reinforcements come from something like a basement outside of the cabin near the broken walls kind of thing. I suggest you use your shotgun, preferably Semi-Auto shotgun. After you kill those, more reinforcements will come. They are spread all around so you should start killing from the nearest enemy to you. Then you should complete the hideout. Then replay.
Another really good tip is when you have to reload, press R3 twice. What this makes is you enter Dead Eye. Dead Eye automatically reloads so you won't need to wait your guy to reload for 5 seconds. Just enter Dead Eye, and then exit Dead Eye.
Why you are getting that much less XP is because probably you're a beginner at the moment. But don't worry, keep practicing and you'll get it. By the way, kill chain is really really important. I usually got 30 kill chain which is the complete gang, I got around 2700 XP. So do what I said, and you'll do it.

wait wait, about the guy on TTG, correct me if im worng but where does it say on his tutorial that this is for ps3, and he calls it a mod and arent mods for xbox 360? because ive been trying different things for this for about one day now and im getting pissed of, i just wanna be sure its for ps3 confused ::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

He didn't directly say it's for PS3, but there were enough tutorials out before his that showed how to do it easily for Xbox. So I doubt he posted a harder tutorial for Xbox. and HSx9 said that this way was very similar to the way he hacked borderlands for PS3.

I have tried using the hex code no luck
Spent ages on this. not getting anywhere
someone fix it. i have 2 start over again because my file was corrupt!

I HEXed it. I used a Float To HEX Converter and that pretty much helped me find the EXP. Just type in how much EXP you have into the box that says "CLEAR" at the end. After that click "Not Rounded" and then use the number after "Hexadecimal" after "Single Precision". You'll use the first 4 numbers in that box and search HEX with them typed in. Then you'll change those 4 to "497424". Which means you'll start 1 byte before your current EXP. I'm not going to make a detailed video tut for this. So if you don't understand, I can't really help you. This is just a rough tut for the people that know what they're actually doing. Sorry. if I help you though. =)
