This quickly became a touchy subject amongst console owners who speculated the historic franchise was surely going green, Xbox green. Well, the next Metal Gear will remain a touchy subject, but not in the same sense of the word.

Konami has revealed that the next title will release for the iPhone. It won't be a new installment however as it is considered just a very watered down version of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The stages and characters within the title are all taken directly from the critically acclaimed release on the PlayStation 3, thus PS3 owners won't be missing out on anything at all.

Joystiq has revealed that the title will be joined by three other Konami-developed projects and is named Metal Gear Silent.

Sure, I just hope that they don't put it out in the appstore for like 20 bucks. That would suck. Because I just don't pay for ANYTHING lol. Appshare ftw.
