Andrew Oliver, CTO of Blitz Games Studios says, "3D gaming on console is coming and we license the tech."

"The best part is console support will only need a bios upgrade to work," Schneider writes. "We are told that the ability to add this capability via bios may be unique to Sony PS3 versus the other console solutions."

Stereoscopic 3D is the ability to display visible depth through two dimensional media. According to MTBS, stereoscopic 3D has proven to be successful in cinema with movies like Beowulf, U23D, and Hannah Montana, earning 2:1 and 3:1 revenue compared to traditional 2D theaters.

Attempts at making games "pop out" and look truly 3D is nothing new to gamers, but this technology has failed to reach mass popularity for gamers at home, mostly because the application has not proven to work well enough to care, it costs too much, or it makes us look dorky when using it. yeah i read about this too. It would be pretty sweet to play games in 3d... and if any of you remember, last year sometime, sony patented a design for their "virtual reality gloves" so it'd be cool to see these two working together.
