He waited a few months before buying a new $350 PS3, instead of replacing it for the $150. Stupid, huh?

Sadly, his MW2 was stuck in his old console. I tell him, "Wait, before you do anything that 99% of NGU would think is retarded, lemme try to do the heat gun thing and see if it actually works!" He replied, "Sure."

You can guess what he did then. Yeah, the very next day, I get a call from him advising me that him and his brother beat the MW2 out of it with a ****ing hammer. To which point, I was, for lack of a better word, flabbergasted. His response: "Dude, it was kind of funny. What am I gonna do with 2 PS3s? Anyway, when you gonna be on?"

I hung up. This happened a matter of minutes ago. Just had to post.
Anyone have anything like this happen to them?

to get the disc out you hold the eject button when it has ylod and then the fans get loud and the disc should pop out lol

since my xbox 360 got banned and i got a ps3 ive been wondering wat to do with the xbox now i know =D

i got the YLOD on my ps3, instead of getting pissed, i went to my neighborhood computer store and got a hard drive and replaced it, which was $110 cheaper than having sony replace that thing,

oh and btw, if you get a 360, throw it in a ditch.

I've heard many stories of people smashing their consoles with hammers, and other items. Pretty funny, and stupid if you ask me, but it's their choice/consoles.

PS3 the only weakness is a hammer and even that can not destroy the beast known as the Sony PS3

Well my PS3 got YLOD and MW2 was in it. I just searched YouTube for 'How to open up PS3 console'. It was very simple. I then got the Slim PS3 as it was just out, and sold the broken PS3 on eBay for £50 to people who like fixin RROD 360s, YLOD PS3s etc.
