sorry sony, if you continue like this, you will never have more sales than Microsoft.
You see firmwares, firmwares, and more firmwares, adding stupid stuff, and never add the features that millions of user want, but features that maybe 1 or 2 people will like, or that nobody is requesting it? seriously?
This is why the other competitors are and will be always on top, why? because they give what the fans want, and is needed, and can be useful
I saw that the next firmware is about to have a new feature for the PS store of 'what you might like'

Most requested features:
* Cross game chat (ability to chat no matter what game you're playing)
* PS Button – Auto Read Message Upon Notification (be able to press the PS button while the notification is showing to go straight to the message.)
* Auto-Syncing Trophies (no time waitig to see your trophies)
* Ability to change your username (so that you don't lose your trophies and all your status etc.)
* In game play music (ability to play any of your music in any game)
* In-Game XMB Customization (Faster Loading)
* Appear offline
* Currently watching... (for playback/movies and all the things)
* Record and upload to youtube for all games (since only a few games support that features, it will give you a huge advantage if you put this features all games, and now with Edit and Uploader program that came with v3.40)

And more... just reminding you Sony, because it seems you don't really care about what we want? do you?

WE WANT TO SEE THOSE FEATURES,
Why wait more than 3 years, and you guys (Sony) can't even put those things? it could give a lot of advantage so what's wrong about putting it? Why always with a firmware there is nothing we want or expect, things that are really useless for us, compared to the things that we really need or want?

I want to see big improvements, a reason for 'firmwares' in every firmware, not just add a little option for a text (like v3.30 etc...), and that that was the whole firmware about, and I want to see features that we are requesting, not features no one need. It seems the "Share ideas" is there for nothing. Two years that the other competitors have had most of these features, and not even now you can put, it seems like the platform is going counter clockwise

Correct, but with 2 years people asking this i think it is enough right? i mean, Xbox 360 has most of these features, and I'm sure it didnt take 1 year creating it, not even 10 months... Now thats for almost all of those features, and you're saying that at least to develop ONE of these (for example cross game chat) should take 2 years+?

Again, THERE is no excuses for Sony by this time, to not have these features.

And no, the "Music in all games" should be enable with a firmware, not EVERY game, or that will take ages, and another reason is that xbox play music in games as soon as you start the game, no matter if you're playing single or multiplayer (so that means it is enabled with the xbox, not that every game has it, because i remember in PS3 some games that allows you to play music, doesn't allow you to play it in multiplayer etc... because the feature is included with the game, not the PS3/firmware)

If they make recording, they will probably make you pay for it (if its very good quality). Because if sony makes recording, it would affect sales for companies that sell HD PVR, Dazzle, etc.. Most people buy a recorder just to record games

Reminds me of when people started hacking the PSP and Sony would just fire out updates. I think the updates have hidden security features because does a small store update like that sound like it deserves a FW update?

Lol, I coincide with you plently, many of this features SHOULD be available, because as you said, more of the system users want it. Plus, is very helpful to make the things more dinamic or even more enjoylable.

lol yeah good point, but it doesn't matter, they won't demand for it, it is their consoles, and they are creating their own things. Just like the movie section, then they shouldn't have that, because it would affect the stores that sell DVD etc... it would be a nice and cool feature that many of the other people with another consoles will just buy it for that, because u play and can record u gameplays. So everybody will like wtf? you can even record the gameplay with ur PS3 only and edit it and upload it to youtube without a PC or any recorder device!!!!
