According to some hackers who wish to remain anonymous and are in the PS3 development chat channel on EFnet, there are traces of an upcoming PSN feature for Americans and Europeans. It is about changing your nickname PlayStation Network, and will "Change display name 'to be named. But what many people probably already know, is the fact that this very very long one feature of the Japanese PlayStation Network, see the video below. did you guys know that games like resident evil and other jap made games sometimes have extended stories that got cut in american versions? like in demon souls, the real jap version had more types of weapons and different endings (supposedly)

i have a japanese account and yes it only changes your name on your own screen and thats the way its always been

This also works with accounts made from Hong Kong (its in the country list for some reason) and it is a carbon copy of the Japan account except in English.

I have one question , if this allows you to change your display name , what happens if the name has already been taken? For example could i take the guys name above me Lser?

Mannn everyone wants this feature I for one don't understand why, is everyone that unhappy with there Gamer-Tag that they want to change it. I don't care if this happens or not, but if it makes the masses happy then I'm all for it I still wouldn't change mine though.
