According to some hackers who wish to remain anonymous and are in the PS3 development chat channel on EFnet, there are traces of an upcoming PSN feature for Americans and Europeans. It is about changing your nickname PlayStation Network, and will "Change display name 'to be named. But what many people probably already know, is the fact that this very very long one feature of the Japanese PlayStation Network, see the video below. So we have to make a new account to start changing it? This is pretty pointless.

I guess unless you can change your account to a Japanese account.

But I do not think so because if you already have a japanese account you would be able to change your current name right? So since this is suppose to be a Playstation Plus feature when they make it available to Europe and North America then you would be able to change your current PSN... because that would only make sense right?


Only thing that sucks in my case is that I already made a new account that I wanted my original name to be but I stuck with the one I have now because of my COD4 stats @ the time. So if I could change my current name I would not be able to change it to my name I really wanted and made on another account.

Actually on japanese acount you cant change your name, Its only your display name. If i were to change mine from Superman991 to Spiderman991 it would say Superman991 one in a online game. It only changes the Display name not the PSN name.

It doesn't work for the Japanese Accounts anymore, I tried changing it & asked my friends what they saw, they said they saw the Online ID still.. it used to work, someone confirm this as well please

Yer so many people are gonna think wow and change it and waste loads of money to figure it only changes display name Oh sony

last time I checked it didn't work anymore and that was like a year ago. Changing the display name is dumb, it should be your actual PSN name that should get changed.

who wants int jap anyways.. that would get very very annoying...
