Activision has named practically its entire 2009 line-up at an in-game advertiser meeting, including Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Speaking at an 'upfront' meeting with in-game ad company Massive Inc. (responsible for the famous Obama Burnout Paradise ad), Activision named its 2009 games including tentatively titled Guitar Hero 5, a new Tony Hawk's and Modern Warfare 2.The sixth CoD game was already confirmed to be under Infinity Ward's wing (and not World at War dev Treyarch), but this news thankfully confirms that number six isn't the rumoured sci-fi spin-off we were dreading.

December 3, 2008 - Activision Blizzard has revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, sequel to Infinity Ward's award-winning first-person shooter.

According to MTV Multiplayer, the publisher revealed the game at a Massive Inc. upfront held in Manhattan, NY. These upfront events typically allow publishers to display their games to advertisers.

While little is known of the game, MTV reports that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is coming out sometime this fall

There have been a number of Call of Duty games in the series, Call of Duty: World at War being the latest. This new game is not like the previous game, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, as it has gone back to the World War II format once again.

We reported today that Activision Blizzard are developing the next game in the series, you guessed it Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. That means that we are back to modern weapons once again.

Call of Duty: World at War is a great game, but the one weakness has to be the old weapons, I love modern weapons, and you know that the awesome firepower will be back once again in the new game, which will be released in the fall of 2009.

The weapons in CoD 4 Modern Warfare are authentic advanced weaponry; these include more than 70 new weapons than the previous game such as assault rifles with laser sites, .50 caliber sniper rifles, M-249 SAW machine guns, claymore mines, and much more.
