Anyway, I've tried them out just on my own with the standard setup (using the composite cables) and they work fine, chat, game sound etc.
My friend just came round and he's brought his so we can get a session going.
Basically I have my HDMI providing the video and an old PS2 composite cable providing left and right audio. Then I have one splitter connected to the right audio and another connected to the left. I've then put two of both red and white cable extensions into the other part of the splitters. Both of the headsets USB leads are connected into the front of my PS3 and then the auxillary to composite adapter is connected also. I have made it so that each headset has its own left and right audio cable.
So now they're are all plugged in I've turned the PS3 on and changed the sound settings so that sound is sent through the AV/Composite/SCART, then changed the "Sound Multi-out" option to "on", so that sound is played through the headset and also my television (so I can just mute my TV when I have the headset on and then if a friend comes round without another headset i can just turn the headset off and un-mute the TV without the hassle of going to the XMB menu).
My problem now is that I want the mic to work on both of the headsets and be able to hear the chat in-game on both headsets.

Dont think it can be done with more then 1
its possible to hook up to HD TV through 1 headset but linking both i dont think so

just buy the a40 mixamp and link them as such(didn't read your post..just glanced)
