Post: Cooling Fat PS3?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys, so first idk if this has been posted it before but if it has been then by all means, just close it, second, its 100 degrees here in san diego, and i've been tryina cool off my ps3 and i cant really tell if its working, i have a fan facing it and its placed in an open area, so guys my question, is there any other cooling techniques? and do u think my way is working or not? cuz i honestly cant freakin tell, so help out guys, please :confused:

There are water cooling options for the fat made by Koolance and Innovatek, they aren't cheap and you will still need a external pump/rad/res. Just remember you cannot cool it down below ambient temp using air cooling or water cooling. You would need a phase change cooler to do that.

I will tell you that having the fan facing your Ps3 is a mistake in my opinion. That actualy pulls dust out of the air and blows it in to your console. I bought two 3 inch fans from Target for $5 each and have them next to the back vents on my slim. they are facing away from the console so this should push dust away and pull the hot air out. I don't seem to have any overheating issues or internal fan issues so I believe this works.

There is always the USB Cooling fan which for $11 bucks you can't go wrong. Or if you don't like this style for about $20 bucks you can get those laptop cooling mats that connect via USB.
