Bills Gates doesn't do any of the work, he has 1000's of engineers that do everything he gets credit for.

It is possible you would need Server Software and proxy software to direct both to you Server, in which case you would have, the server software setup to do the handshaking and data conversion between the 2 platforms, it is no different than having the MAC and PC able to link to the same servers.
