(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have my ps3 on while watching some TV and i hear 3 beats and the ps3 turns off with the red light blinking. So i dissconnect everything and reboot and it turns on for a second and turns off with a quick flash of a yellow light. I disconnected everything again and was on for 10min and shutted off again. What do i do, Its a 40gb that i bought when gta 4 came out. Am I screwed and i read that it costs $150 to get a refurbished one but i have 4 accounts with kombos ready to sync. I also heard you can fix it but opening your ps3. Is there any other way and i also heard that its the HDD so if thats so all i have to do it buy a new HDD

Hells
I'm Back...
its not the HDD, you will need to open it up although there is a temp fix which involves a hairdryer, use this method to sell it to gamestop or a similar shop then buy a second hand 1

how much you think gamestop will give me. But first i still have 4 accounts worth of kombos to sell so i think ill sell those first . Also is the hairdyer fix easy. The only things iv done is hard mod a psp and hack my samsung moment phone. But what exactly is the problem as some people when they turn their ps3 on it shuts off right away but when i discconect all cords n reboot it stays on for 10min. So at least ill be able to back my shit up. Man this sucks **** ps3 **** 360 the only system that last are the psp n ps2 all the next gen shit dnt last long than a dog. Iv had my hp laptop for 7years and i treat it LIKE shit . Never had it completey die(its got blue screen, viruses, cant find operating system ,etc before) but that didnt last and works fine

I’m too L33T
As soon as you get your PS3 to turn on, what I suggest you do is deactivate all of your profiles.

Word of advice, if you don't know what your doing DO NOT OPEN YOUR PS3! 1st it will void any kind of warranty and if your out of warranty then you won't be able to get the $150 refurbished deal so think about it long and hard. Honestly you couldn't get a better deal then $150 for a refurbished unit the catch is the Refurb's only come with a 90 warranty. If you do wan't to give a try at fixing it yourself I suggest the BLOW DRYER & BOX METHOD and only do this 1 or 2 times and if it don't work stop cause you could damage it I will post a video of what I am talking about below, Hope this helped.

Buy a new one instead of spending a lot of money to get it fix.

It needs to be blowing HOT AIR, your trying to reheat the Solder to the Motherboard some people say the blow dryer works some say it doesn't get hot enough I guess it works for some IT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME THOUGH.

Im going to try the blow dryer for a bit and if that fails im goin to use my heat gun which i believe i have to take apart everything all the way to the motherboard
