Once upon a time...

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have my PS3 but my friends HDD. I was wondering if I could recover his PSN name without having to back it up. His PS3 has a ylod so i took his hdd so i can do the jailbreak.

Second, IF i was to format his hdd to my ps3, would it have MY 3.42 firmware or just the stock firmware on it?

To recover an account you just have to log into it by creating a new user... No backing up required...

Yes you would have your 3.42 firmware because the firmware is stored in a flash memory on the PS3 not on the hard drive...
