I haven’t been the biggest fan of Sony’s virtual world, Home. But this announcement has caught my eye–starting February 27th, Warner Brothers and Sony are partnering up to bring some Watchmen related content to PlayStation Home. Players will be able to purchase clothing and items for their avatars, as well as dress up as character’s from the graphic novel–Nite Owl and Rorschach.
While I doubt I’ll bother wasting my money on some clothing or character skins, the coolest part of the announcement is that on March 6th (the day of the movie adaption’s release) a Q&A session with Watchmen director Zach Snyder and Watchmen graphic artist Dave Gibbons will be streamed over PlayStation Home, with questions coming from 10 invitation-only guests.
These are the type of things Sony needs to continue to do within PlayStation Home on a weekly, if not daily basis. If PlayStation 3 owners know that they can hop into PlayStation Home and on any given day, have something special to do, they’ll be more apt to hop on the service.
