(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok so I bought a PS3 controller from ebay and I have a slight worry that it may be fake.

You must login or register to view this content.

The packaging was legit, it has a legit serial number describing it as a USA controller (although i'm a UK citizen)

The differences between my previous controller, and this one are only slight. These differences include:

Less rounded analogue sticks.

Bolder writing on the Select and Start

Inside the controller is blue circuit board as opposed to green in my other

These differences are only slight but I can't play COD with this controller. Whether i'm just being a turd and haven't 'broke the controller in' so to say is a different matter, it could be real but i'm unsure.

Any advice would be great. It's just different to the controller I got with my console 2 years back and I don't know whether they've changed them slightly or something.

EDIT WITH PICS

This shows the difference between my old controller and the one I purchased (The one I purchased is blue inside and the one I had previously, was green) Also you can see that the rumblers have a type of foam round them.

These pictures show the difference between the writing on select and start. First one is the new one that I feel might be fake, second one is the one that came with my PS3

A good way to know if the controller is fake is the PLAYER 1,2,3,4 LEDS should be flush with the controller on the fake ones you can feel them popping out a lil bit. And also in the FAKE ones there is a screw behind the sticker on the bottom side of it where on the original OEM ones there isn't.

Outside of that it's tough to tell mate, can you contact the seller maybe you can get your money back and keep the controller for him selling you a fake is the only advice I can give you.

Or go to a store buy a real one, exchange the insides and return it ....LOL JUST AN IDEA!

If it was fake it would not work with the PS3

Believe there would be some differences but am unsure
Short of comparing two all the little details
