I don't know if most of you guys remember this game "6 DAYS IN FALLUJAH" it was a title being developed by ATOMIC GAMES and published by Konami, it focuses directly with the 6 day battle for Fallujah also known as "OPERATION PHANTOM FURY". The game received much criticism due to the fact that is was dated for release April of 2009 and the battle for Fallujah was fresh in people's mind, seemed the timing was not appropriate. I heard a few people mention this game in interviews and seemed to give the idea that this game will never see the light of day but there are confirmed reports that the game is finished and will be released "EVENTUALLY".

Would love to hear what you guys think, I have 3 friends in the Marines 2 of which were in the battle for Fallujah and thankfully made it back. Post your thought's, comments anything constructive.

Casualties
U.S.:95 killed, 560 wounded (51 killed Nov.8-16 in initial invasion)
UK:3 killed, 8 wounded

Release: 2010
Developed by: Atomic Games
Publisher: Konami

Respect to all the people who lost their lives and the family and friends suffering from it. That said I do not like censoring games at all. Or censoring any type of content for that matter.

Why do everything has to be filtered in some way? In this case the people affected by that specific event is not interested in getting the game, so why are they bothered by it?

I agree with you totally there should be no censoring period, however I am sympathetic to those Marine's families who lost there lives and understand how "A GAME" could affect them but I think if KONAMI OR ATOMIC would donate a percentage of there proceeds to help those families it would at least be respected.

Hmm...that is a brilliant idea. It shows that the game was not intended to hurt anyone, but merely creating a specific experience taken from a real world event. Movies have done this for years, and I don't see why games can't do the same.
Maybe the world just have to adjust to the game marked. To be fair movie got the same criticism in the beginning as well.

Think about it "HURT LOCKER" won an Academy Award and I love the movie and I think it was depicted very well and I'm also sure they didn't donate anything to anyone LOL.:y:

My thought exactly. My hope is that one day games will be able to do the same. It would be interesting to hear from someone who disagrees. To hear their argument I mean Smile
