Hi.

first post here. i understand your question quite easily.

He wants to have a file on his ps3 which is over the 4gb file size limit, he wants to know how he can do this, Imo, if its an AVI file for example. you could split the file use such video programs virtualDub, or google for AVI splitter,

I have a similar issue with Red dead redemption which as a 7gb file size, id like to know how i could get this to play on my ps3??

im using breakme 1.2 with 1.7 firmware and Gaia manager

No, there is no way to put a file larger than 4 GB on a fat32 storing device. I have one myself. (But you could split up the movies in an editor)

Just do like me and plug the hdmi from ur ps3 into ur pc, and go from there.

I like how I am the only one understanding this question. Smile

It wont, unless you are using a jailbroken ps3 (And then you can't play online)

Hey I know what you mean I had the exact same problem. I have RDR and tryed backing it up but there is a file that is too big. Try using a file splitter. Here is the one i use You must login or register to view this content. It also had a file joiner if you need to put the file back together for any reason.

If you set up a simple web server on your PC you can add a folder with all your files in and download them through the PS3's internet browser.

The advantage of this over other methods is files can be downloaded in the background whilst your PS3 is doing something else Smile
