did you swap the green pcb board over aswell (dunno if thats what it's called) as there paired to the playstation itself and are you sure the replacement drive even worked before you swapped it over?

Did you just fully replace the disc drive or the lazer?
Each disc drive has its own personal code for the PS3 that you have to match.

try putting the ps3 in recovery mode or keep on holding the eject button till the drive resets itself
