In the battle Playstation vs Xbox, Sony is looking for any advantage they can get, and they may have just got one. According to the Nikkei newspaper, two major movie studios have got on the Playstation Network. Fox and Universal studios are going to be adding their movies to the list of movies availabe for rent and download on PSN.
While there are already some high profile movie studios signed on with PSN, these giants in the industry may be a telling sign that Playstation is outstripping other platforms in its available digital content.
So, will PS3 be king-of-the-hill of digital content, or will Xbox 360′s Microsoft’s Zune Marketplace pull something out of its sleeve?
to be fair the xbox movie thing is pretty damn awesome. Buy it, watch it. done. no lag at all for me. the first time i tried from the ps3 it was a bit terrible and took ages to load the film.
If Sony wanted an advantage they'd listen to their ****ing community. They have the potential to have the most awesome console in the world but lack good management. They could easily release updates that would help them pull ahead, just wave the cash and get some developers to start making more exclusives, make your software engineers release a better dev kit that's easier for game developers. Add xgame chat, add a party like system, add in game music, add new and cool features that make the Playstation 3 a better console.
This ps3 store needs more content for one, and they need to offer a rental service similar to netflix.
