i turned my ps3 on and that message came up to rebuild database. What does this do? is it ok?

yea its ok, it safe, nothing bad happens, just listen to him, everything does delete though depending on which one you do but it works perfectly...it fixes most ps3 problems but not all like blue ray drive...
