(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This is going to be a stupid question but I have a 3.55 ps3, if i restore my ps3 it says it will set the ps3 back to default? Does that mean it gets rid of the 3.55 and put it to 0.00? Can someone explain please what restore actually does?

No it will not. The PS3 has a chip in it that tells it the firmware that is currently installed. (I forgot what the name of the chip was) When you restore it WILL erase everything on your hard drive. Then when you start it up, it will tell you to plug in a USB with x.xx firmware(the one installed before you restored, in your case 3.55) Your PS3 won't start until you install the firmware using a USB.

No, all it does is wipe everything off of it memory wise. But not the Firmware.
