Post: How much can I sell my reballed PS3 for?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I just got my 60gb b/c PS3 reballed last month. I've used it once to download Nazi Zombies and haven't touched it because I have my slim. I payed $120 to get it reballed with leaded solder. I also have the Nyko TS intercooler. Is my PS3 of more value because it's reballed with leaded solder? It is also under warranty with the company who reballed it for a year. What do you think? SmileSmile

Erm, it depends on how the CPU and GPU were taken of the motherboard, doesn't heat cause damage to them?

Well, I've had 2 PS3 60GB's break on me and the fact the failure rate is like 100% in PS3 60GB after 3 years.

Yeh it should be worth more as technically it should be as good as new, none of that temporary heat gun crap.

I wouldn't sell it, its by far the best PS3 out there and they're really rare! They look the best and have the most features.

I'm getting my replacement PS3 from Sony reballed somehow, I'm not getting another refurbished crap from them. Also isn't it possible to use the new CPU and GPU from the Slim, they gave off much less heat.

Where you totally take the CPU and GPU off, clean them and the motherboard and then reapply them with new solder. Technically it should be as good as new from the factory.

The temporary heat gun trick is crap and only good for backing up or transferring the data to a new PS3.

I'm not sure about freezing as there may be a problem in the CPU/GPU it self. It's a fix for the YLOD mainly.

Yeh you have a graphics problem, you'll need a new CPU/GPU, if its under warranty you should be fine even if your 3 months outta warranty, Sony may replace it.

If not, then you'd best of getting a PS3 Slim.
