(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); i recieved a free ps3(Model Ceche01) from a friend who was tired of trying to get it to work. here is the situation: it turns on, then about 30 seconds it shuts back off. no audio, or video from either the hdmi or rca adapters. now i do have 3 systems(including the possible brick) and i have one jailbroken. so i tried the jailbreak+ firmware install. its still on but there's no HD access light going.the only money i put into it was like 30$ for a new HD(which is what he said was wrong) upon cracking it open i found a single screw holding the MB down was headless. other then that everything came in and out fine. i've done the Pwr button till the system beeps, and several other trouble shooting endeavors, but to no avail. any positive help would be appreciated.

side note, with out the JB dongle use, it turns off after 30 seconds, with: it stays on, still no audio/video/hd activity

Take it to a computer shop they will fix it for you...
A similar thing happened to a friend of mine, the guy at the shop said there's a 'fuse' type soldier on the motherboard that protects it from overheating (or something LOL) melting the part in the middle when it gets too hot causing the power to be cut after the PS3 cant get access to the motherboard (or something like that) On a PC mother board there a similar thing but on a PC you can just replace it by clicking in a new one into place,
but Sony made it a soldier so that YOU will have to replace it sometime.

I spend almost the same as you and solve pressing the power button for 10 seconds and provides four options and gave configure the video output. I worked and have not had more problems

I agree. there is nothing you can do unless you know how to fix these things.

Like the other dude said...

Some thermal grease should fix everything... It's kinda easy to do it yourself and there are some tutorials on the internet... But if you are clueless, just take it to a computer shop lol

good luck Awesome face
