I know this because I did it accidently (Turned my TV off, didn't know it was saving to the HDD) when I first got MW2...

I know it works with MW2 because that's what happened to me, and I mean you know how it says that the game saves to HDD and you shouldn't power down while that's happening? Yeah well when I powered down while MW2 was doing that I bricked mine...
