(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Sony has responded to the recent cracking of the Playstation3, and the company claims that they can fix the issue - which ought to be impossible considering the scope of the hack. "We are aware of this, and are currently looking into it," Sony said, "We will fix the issues through network updates, but because this is a security issue, we are not able to provide you with any more details."

they sue anyone they want, the second you sign up to PSN you sign an agrremnt and i think one of the main things is "you agree not to hack this system" so they can sue and will win.

They still cant sue us.

Look up the law, once you buy something its yours you can do what you want with it.

If we couldnt do that then there wouldnt be a thing called Pre-Owned games.

I'm sure you all know that hacking the PS3 and stealing the master keys didn't happen overnight. It took well thorough planning to get to where we are now, and knowing that Sony only made a statement when the PS3 hack was released only means that they could have something up their sleeve nobody knows about (but who knows).

Below is the official statement I got in a email:

They told me that it will take a few updates to fix it

i think it depends on how tightly they lock down on future updates and other read/write access areas.

i always took it as that they cannot patch it because the ECDSA private keys they re used every time is decrypted by a hardware chip that contains the public keys. therefore requiring a new hardware release to fix.

bear in mind i just thought this up through comments i have read from failoverf0w and other posts artound the net.
