Post: The downfall of PlayStation(R) 3...

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello everyone,
Im sure by now most of you know about, or probably have, GeoHotz new custom firmware for v3.55. But what most of you dont know is that Geohot found out, and used, Sony's "playstation key" to make his new jailbreak. (A key is something a console uses to determine of a game, movie, song, gamesave, etc, is "legit" and not pirated.) And because GeoHot used Sony's key to make this it means Sony will NEVER be able to fix this Jailbreak. And GeoHot made Sony's key public so anyone can have access to it if they want to which means more and more hacks will come out for PlayStation(R) 3. And yes, a new firmware update would most likely delete this jailbreak but you could put it right back on there, and ill tell you why; See sony cannot change their key for PlayStation(R) to fix the jailbreak, because if they changed their key that means every single game currently released for PlayStation(R) would be uncompatible with the new key. So all of this means that soon, everyone on PlayStation(R) 3 will have a CFW of some type and most popular games will be hacked and not fun to play. And if a publisher's game is completely hacked on PlayStation(R) 3 then why would they even make that game for PlayStation(R) 3? So this means that some major publishers (e.g. Activision(R)) might drop PlayStation(R) 3 as a console for their game. So thanks GeoHot for destroying PlayStation(R) 3...../:

Ok one quick thing there is no need whatsoever ever to put a freaking r after every playstation
and if this was true there would be no games on xbox because that had the crap modded out of it long before ps3 but games still come out for it

if you read my post clearly i said geohot used sony's playstation key to jailbreak the ps3 on xbox, for example the jtag, people modified there actual hardware on xbox and installed modchips and did not use microsoft's xbox key (btw xbox's key is still inknown) and geohot used software, and sony's key, to hack ps3 and not modify hardware like on xbox.

and also the software jtag for xbox can be easily patched by microsoft if u update ur console but there is no need to update with a jtag, and if u update ur bricked.

That doesn't mean sony can't change their key. Old games wont work because of the new key, but that doesn't mean new games can't be made. Also people could exchange their old game for the same one but with a different key.

NO publisher of ANY game would start making a new copy of a game that is already released so the could be played on ps3, they would lose so much money. Also, they old versions of the games would have to be taken of the shelves of stores and the new ones would have to be shipped in costing even more money. Finally, say you have 14 or so ps3 games like me, and seeing as they average price of a ps3 game is $40 that means i would have to pay $480 for replacements of games i already own. And most people wouldnt like paying $40 more dollars for a game they own.

I said EXCHANGE. And if PS3 gets dropped from game publishers Sony would lose customers and money, so I'm sure they will find a fix.

All this means is that game devs have to work a bit more harder to keep there games from getting hacked, at patching the new hack available...

Notice how there is little to none hackers on Black Ops right now.

In Flames Much?
It not the end of the PS3
Just a good example of what went wrong with it.....and how poor planning comes to light.

Look forward to the homebrew stuff
