Your saves will stay safe as long as you back them up to a USB memory stick or something. Your online data (weapons unlocks, etc) is tied to your account, so you won't lose it. The only difference is that you have to redownload the patches.

no dont restore your ps3 just delete you cod4 patch from game data utility go back on cod4 and reinstall ur patch
