i personally sold my ps3 and bought a xbox just recently. i can tell you that by no means does that mean im broke. GTFO for reals. i had my ps3 for 3 years. i can say that xbox so far has out performed the ps3 so far. as for your argument on blu-rays. i can go to walmart and get a blu-ray player for $50 buck and take care of that problem. avatars on the ps3 suck. the xmb sucks. ps+ which i had sucks. no cross game voice chat. waaaaay better online community. and my slim xbox doesn't even come close to getting hot. i can say this because i have owned both. have you? by your post here i highly doubt it. ps3 has his pros dont get me wrong. but dont be a fanboy get real noob

Okay, now my thoughts on the systems:
Bearing in mind I own a PS3 but have borrowed and used my mates 360 and Wii - Since I haven't owned them or paid for them I'm probably a little biased by which one I feel an ownership for (and so possible need to defend my purchase).

The eXcuseBOX3shitty has poor reliability, far more so than the PS3. The failure rate which Microsoft refuse to address is astonishing.

There are lots more games for the XBox though. Not saying they're better, but there does seem to be more choice. Even the PS3 sequels to the games that had me loving the PS1 and PS2 just haven't cut it.

The PS3 has Blu-Ray, which is great. Microsoft yet to bring out an external BR drive though and say they wont.

The Kinect is definitely more innovative then the Move.

Free on-line play on the PS3, verses the fact they still haven't got cross game chat working... I'm going to prepare for the backlash and say you get what you pay for. The XBox PAID FOR service is better than the PAID FOR PS3 Plus service, but the free service on the PS3 is better than the free service on the 360.
Not going to comment on the on-line communities; you'll find good and bad people on any system.

Possibly down to personal preference but I think the XMB is nicer to use than the 360 UI.

Even with less graphical abilities than the PS3 (sorry Microsoft fans but it's true on a hardware level) the games tend to look better on the 360 due to it's anti-aliasing and higher resolution textures (Sorry Sony, but it's true).
Even with PS3 handling bump mapping and lighting better, the difficulty for the coders has meant that games for both releases have looked better on the XBox.

It's all well and good the games makers saying "we're only beginning to explore the power of the PS3.." but they've been saying it for a couple of years now.

Also - I'd really like to know why many games that have a release on both systems seem to run at 720 on PS3 but 1080 on the xbox.
Does anyone know why? Are there some that are 1080 on PS3 and 720 on 360?

As for my comment about Wii trolls, just to cheer you up:
I wouldn't call the Nintendo Wii 7th gen, probably 6.5 gen - sorry to all you Nintendo fans out there. However, the way Nintendo innovate and are then copied by the other systems, the way they started a Homebrew channel; In all honesty, if they do decide to join the 7th generation of consoles I will be tempted.
ONLY tempted though, as Nintendo do tend to be Pro-Japan; in that the best games never make it westwards, and it's region locked.


Conclusion to my rant:
If it wasn't for the Uncharted series, Valkyria Chronicles, SingStar (blame the misses, she tried Lips and didn't like it), Heavy Rain, the fact that I get on better with the PS pad than the XBox pad (not going to say one's better than the other as some of my mates favour the XBox pad, it's down to personal preference), and Microsoft's failure to address the RRoD - If it wasn't for those things, I would trade it in for a 360 before you'd finish reading this post.
