Hey all, my 4th replacement ps3 has had the RLOD and wont turn on... Does anyone know if my replacement ps3 will come with the latest firmware on it? or can i still install 3.55-jb and bypass using DNS?
Depends in which shop or in which town you will buy the PS3. If you buy the system directly of Sony, the PS3 will probably be on firmware 3.56, as they update all of the PS3s. But if you buy them of a small shop in your town, i am sure it will be on a firmware lower than 3.50 as they never update the PS3s and the PS3 was probably in their stock for over a month or even more.

Yes i am pretty sure that Sony will update your PS3.
If you are scared, just try to fix the YLOD by yourself, I heard it's not that hard to do

well my new ps3 is due to arrive tomorrow anyway when they pick up my ps3 at the same time so thats too late... i can always hope they havnt updated it and left it to do myself so i can do the 3.55-jb update and bypass using DNS
Well iv got my fingers crossed... thats what i want to hear, i will update this post tomorrow with the situation
Well iv sent my other half into town to get me a brand new ps3 while i wait for my replacement to appear... so i can have 1 ps3 hopefully jailbroken and the other for genuine gaming... so fingers crossed the brand new 1 needs to be updated manually rather than sony having already done the 3.56 update on it
