The issue seems to be the same as usual, with users on multiple forums complaining that they cannot update their hard disk drives since installing the update. This seems to mostly be affecting more recent PS3 units, although some older ones have been fallen foul of the chicanery as well.

As usual, you can expect Sony to release some sort of fix for afflicted users in due time.

After releasing roughly ten billion Firmware updates, you'd think Sony would have actually gotten good at them.

there's rumors that they wont fix it due to hackers upgrading there hard drive to have more room for more games instead of buying a external hdd

Yea I'm having a problem with mine. worked fine for me yesterday then i went to play online with mw2 ps3 froze, went to split screen ps3 froze, unplugged the ethernet cord still froze it's doin it on my jb ps3 and my regular one now.

Thats pretty dumb, maybe they are disabling it because hackers who want bigger internal HDD wich is pretty messed up seeing as people who don't hack are also affected by this, but like you said it's Sony.

i did the data transfer, i wanted to use chromes 10th edit, so put it on my job ps3 did the data transfter that didnt work tried other patches still didnt, but my world at war one works just fine which is still coming from the jb ps3. so i deleted my 30377 folder, put the new ones in with a clean patch still nothin, it's weird how im getting online with other games but somethings preventing me from getting online or just regular slplit screen with mw2
