Sony is a japanese company. They are going to cause problems in the United States at the very least with this lawsuit. If they win, there will be some very serious reprocussions. At the very least, an exodus of sorts. This will, and has already, violate rights. Freedom of speech was impeeded by the restraining order put on geohot. Pursuit of happyness is being impeeded by not allowing us to use our property in the manner we see fit. I'm not sure what else has or will be violated, but I'm sure it is a long list. The exodus would be what I would do, at the very least. Having "big brother" breathing down my neck every time I do something on a computer, phone, etc. That they don't like would be enough for that.
I'm sure that this will probably have ill effects in nearly every country that has access to sony and playstation.
I can see this turning into a war, if the wrong laws are passed and the wrong words are said. After all, no taxation without representation did become our reason for breaking off from britain.

Just my opinion... don't care if you flame/troll because it is my opinion and I'm entitled to one, the same as everyone else is. (Though sony doesn't seem to think so, based on current and past events)

If you goto geohots web site and read the initial response to sony from him, he says similar to what you are sayin. Sony is a bunch of crooks, thats all there is to it. They want to charge us 60$ for the game then 10-20-30$ for the download content. Thats all this entire system is built around. A nice looking electronic store right in your living room that plays movies music and pictures, i can see if we was actually renting the system then yeah but see the ps3 is in my damn living room your software is on "my damn playstation" therefor making it "my damn software" seriously we all need to start a butition against sony and their lawsuit against george because numbers rule everything and if we get enough to say piss on that we wanna mod our ps3's they just might take it into consideration since they really are never going to be able to fix what is already done. I mean if they look at it from the right point of view they could actually profit from what he has done in many ways. Like boot up their private servers that they was talking about last year... They was going to have private paid servers which then they could issue some sort of patch for those on the private servers to update their ps3 and not have to worry about playing with cheaters. There is just alot of things they could do to make this work for everyone and they choose to try to make an example when really all they are doing is making a shit load of people mad. And all the wrong people at that.

When you installed the CWF on your ps3 then you've 'violated' sony's terms and conditions. Its all good to say its my system this that and the other but sony too like you say have a right to release terms and conditions.

I don't agree with what Sony are doing but i can understand their point of view.
