There can'e be much more to add with blu-ray players, 3D, and motion control. If they do release the next generation, it is going to be only for the money. Also, I believe that game developers have a hard time transitioning and that would mean more focusing on the platform compatibility and less on the quality of the game.

Hmm, i reckon in the future there will be a gaming console that would be like projector and you use comands to turn it on and you wouldnt need a controller. Now thats what i call a gaming console. Or something that makes it feel like you are actually doing it in real live, kind of like a simulator.

You can always improve on something man, believe that the hardware will become old, new processors, new ways of storing (like now that Chinese discover how to store information on cells...a cell can contain about 80 gigs of information encrypted), new and better graphics, etc. New consoles will come when games exceed the graphics and the processors the actual consoles have.

It doesn't seem that there is anything new. You are right if they were to release anything it would just be for money.

anyone see the movie gamer? thats my opinion real life cod, and racing will be real life nascar or f1 what ev and for adrenaline junkies you would have death race except it will all be controlled like in the movie gamer except all with inmates. oh and the sims would be like that game in gamer where the people whore themselves out and let people control them.

Apple will make one. It will be similar to the ipad as in you download everything (well like all idevices) have an imac screen (better resolution than full HD) and I will buy it
