According to ScrewAttack, the hooded figure's name is Ezio Auditore de Firenze, a nobleman of Florence from 1476. Ezio happens to be yet another genetic predecessor of Desmond's, the modern-day character from the first game. It's also believed that players will be able to swim and utilize DaVinci's flying machine, which should make the game a bit more interesting to say the least.
