(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hey guys ive been looking into upgradeing the hard drive in my ps3 for a while now but never got round to it and then i got caught up in all the CFW hype lol! but now im going to do it but my problem is i need to upgrade my hard drive while im still on CFW 3.55 coz the new OFW 3.56 doesnt allow hard drive upgrades if im correct?

also the hard drive im going to use was in my old laptop which still has all my stuff on it because i never got round to wipeing it coz the screen died on the laptop lol so if i was to try and install this hard drive into my PS3 will it wipe all my old stuff off when it formatts to the PS3 or not? and can anyone tell me if i will loose my MW2 patch when i change the hard drive?

why have you already updated to 3.56? im just wondering if you can upgrade the hard drive while still on 3.55 then upgrade to 3.56 with out any trouble

I live in the UK so I didn't think there was a bypass when the update came out, so I updated.

it will wipe everything off your hdd that was in your laptop but before you put that new hdd in i would get an external hdd and back up all your stuff on the hdd thts in the ps3 then put new one in and transfer the stuff from your external hdd on to that because if you just put the new one in you will lose your cls and i think even your homebrews so thats y you need external hdd

thanks for the reply dude,ive aready backed up all my stuff so its good to go was just wondering on that main question really and im not botherd about the homebrew stuff im going to update to 3.56 anyway coz not being able to play online is killing me lol and i cant wait for CFW 3.56 ill just get another PS3 and jailbreak that one for all the homebrew apps instead

I was too impatient and updated the second I heard there was an update.

WOW, I just swaped mine forgetting about the update..Now all I get is an 8002F2C5 error.
