Sony added a rootkit, and it's slowed down alot. making it lag more and things. It reads everybodys IP address everytime they log on, this is one of the reasons that things are freezing etc.

ok, i tried it on another user, it loads up mw2 but then just randomly freezes. im gonna buy a new one/restore.

You did not get rid of all the evidence that you Jailbroked therefore sony's security patch has done something to your ps3 it is not broken but you should have read in the forums before you updated there were threads on how to do it safely so your ps3 dosen't get bricked

Dude before you get rid of it and buy new one , try doing system restore.
