Sounds to me like the optical sensor on your disk drive is broke. Your ps3 dont know your trying to put in a disk. its really easy to fix it and if you do it yourself it will only cost about £10. It happened to me before. just search 'ps3 optical sensor' on ebay or google it for more info.

1. shut down ps3
2. turn off power (from the back)
3. hold eject
4. turn power back on

now the ps3 clean herself
after it just turn power off and back on and try it again
