(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I want to be able to back up games legally (I am not joking I want this for games that I think may get scratched.)

I want to hear from you guys just say if it is worth me bricking my ps3 in order to do this.

Lol, you don't want your games scratched, but you want to brick your PS3? At least be honest about your intentions, no one really gives a shit.
And there are loads of threads about it, with peoples experiences of downgrading, some of which are stickied.

I don't really understand why you're asking this. If backups are that precious to you then downgrade. If not, then stay on OFW. Why do you want our input?

I have 1 ps3 so if I get this red screen I am f*cked aren't I? I want it either done perfectly first time or be safe.

Then don't do it at all. You either have the balls to do it, or you don't. Look after your discs a bit better if you're that worried about them.
