(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So me and one of my friends(epic nerd) are going to put a network hub between my PS3 and the internet. Then we are going to hook up a laptop and packet sniff. To see what data is REALLY being sent over the network. I have read many articles about the data being unencrypted. I want to see if for myself what kind of data is being sent over the network UNENCRYPTED.

So it will go,

This is where we will packet sniff ^

I will be sure to record this for proof. If our data is being sent over the internet with out an encryption there are MAJOR problems. No i'm not talking about us as people suing Sony. Credit card company's can sue Sony for not having the information encrypted.

Just letting people know what I'm planing on doing in the next week or so Smile

creditCard.cardNumber=1234567890123456&
creditCard.expireYear=2012&creditCard.expireMonth=2&
creditCard.securityCode=123&
creditCard.address.address1=EXAMPLESTREET%2024%20&creditCard.address.city=EXAMPLECITY%20&
creditCard.address.province=EXAMPLEREGION%20&
creditCard.address.postalCode=12345%20
The credit card information should ALWAYS be encrypted. In ANY case. At least the security code. SONY is only relying on it’s https connection. With all those CFWs spreading around, this is not secure anymore. Same goes for the user details:
serviceid=IV0001-NPXS01001_00&
[email protected]&
password=examplepassword&
first=true&
consoleid=EXAMPLEID123

Honestly I really hope I don't. It would mean some little kid could easily get all of this information. Forget a little kid getting it. Think about someone who knows what they are doing with it, that is scary.

This isn't exposed information, for the grabs.
No way ANY company would make such a huge error.

I am not questioning that this information is or is not being read from our consoles, I hope not because my privacy is being violated if that's the case.

Considering Sony's past I wouldn't doubt it this was true. I just hope it isn't.
